Assoc. Dr. Elif Öncü explains that thanks to developing digital technologies, dental implant treatment is now planned with much more precision, predictability, and comfort.
What are the Steps in Digital Implant Treatment?
The treatment process begins with intraoral digital scanners used instead of traditional impression materials. This allows the patient’s oral structure to be obtained as a 3D model with high precision in a short time.
Then, Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) imaging is performed to evaluate the volume, quality, and anatomical structures of the jawbone in detail. All the data obtained are combined in special planning software, and the position, angle, and size of the implant are planned digitally before the surgery.
What are the Advantages of Digital Planning?
- Personalized Surgical Guides: Thanks to the guides prepared in accordance with the planning, implant placement is performed with high accuracy.
- Less Need for Sutures: The need for sutures during the operation is significantly reduced.
- Same Day Teeth (Temporary Prosthesis): In many cases, temporary fixed prostheses can be prepared in advance, and patients can leave our clinic with functional and aesthetic teeth on the same day after treatment.
Digital implantology is a modern treatment approach that is safer, more predictable, and increases patient comfort.
