E-max veneers are high-aesthetic materials made from lithium disilicate glass ceramic, offering light transmittance and fluorescence properties closest to natural teeth; however, alongside these high aesthetic achievements, their mechanical bending strength (approximately 400-500 MPa) is considerably lower than zirconium or metal. Posterior molars experience hundreds of kilograms of vertical and horizontal loads per square centimeter during chewing. If multiple missing teeth are present in the posterior region and a long bridge is constructed with E-max, the bridge’s body (connecting) sections cannot withstand these intense bending forces during chewing and will crack. Therefore, while E-max material provides excellent results in single-unit anterior crowns, laminate veneers, and areas up to premolars where the load is low, it is contraindicated in multi-unit long bridges in the posterior region.
