Pressable E-max veneers are produced by traditional dental technicians using wax modeling techniques. This involves melting lithium disilicate blocks under high pressure in porcelain furnaces and injecting (pressing) them into the cavities. In this method, the crystalline structure of the porcelain is very homogeneously distributed, microscopic voids are eliminated, and marginal fit can be excellent depending on the technician’s skill. In the CAD/CAM milling method, pre-prepared porcelain blocks are mechanically milled using computer-controlled diamond burs. The milling method is very fast and minimizes human error; however, due to the micron-level vibrations of the burs, the risk of microscopic cracks (micro-chipping) at very fine edges (laminate tips) is slightly higher compared to the pressing method. In modern clinics, both methods are successfully applied according to the geometry of the case.
