Why is scraping and removing the periodontal ligament necessary in the “Biological Extraction” technique?

In traditional tooth extraction, the tooth is separated from the bone and pulled out, often leaving the microscopic fibrous layer around the root (periodontal ligament) inside the bone. However, this is an incomplete practice in holistic dentistry, and a “Biological Extraction” protocol is applied. After the tooth is extracted, all periodontal ligament fibers remaining inside the bone socket must be meticulously scraped away millimeter by millimeter using special surgical curettes or ultrasonic scrapers. This is because these fibers contain the “biological memory” of the extracted tooth and, if the tooth is infected, bacterial endotoxins. If the ligament is left inside, the body’s bone-producing cells cannot reach that area, the hole is closed from above with mucosa, but the inside of the bone remains empty, and years later a focus of NICO (necrotic bone cavity) forms there. The scraping process initiates true healing by delivering fresh blood to the bone.
