In holistic dentistry, how is “Kinesiology” (Muscle Testing) a clinical tool for measuring the compatibility of dental materials with the body?

Applied kinesiology (muscle testing) is a holistic diagnostic method that measures the instantaneous motor responses of the body’s nervous system and energy fields to surrounding substances. In clinical practice, while the patient lies on their back, they raise one arm forcefully upwards, and the physician applies gentle pressure to this arm (measuring the patient’s basal muscle strength). Then, the dental material to be tested (e.g., a composite filling brand or cement sample) is given to the patient or placed in their mouth. If the material is incompatible with the patient’s biology, the nervous system gives an instantaneous stress response, and when the physician applies pressure again, the patient’s muscle strength weakens significantly, and the arm cannot resist. If the material is compatible, the muscle strength remains firm. Kinesiology is used as a rapid biofeedback tool to support laboratory tests.
