According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) acupuncture theory, our bodies have meridian channels through which life energy (Qi) flows, and each group of teeth is connected to specific organ systems via these channels. According to this map, the upper and lower front incisors (central and lateral teeth) are directly on the “Kidney and Bladder” meridian. Therefore, in a patient with chronic, non-healing infections, deep cavities, or galvanic currents in their upper front teeth, chronic urinary tract infections, kidney stone tendencies, gynecological problems, or reproductive system disorders may be triggered due to this energy blockage. Conversely, the front teeth of a person with chronic kidney disease may demineralize more quickly. Using this map, the holistic practitioner correlates the patient’s overall health history with their teeth.
