An implant is a titanium screw-like structure placed in the jawbone to replace a missing tooth. Over time, it integrates with the bone (“osseointegration”), forming a solid foundation. Thanks to the connecting element (abutment) and porcelain crown that will be placed on it, it restores both the function and aesthetics of the missing tooth. The basic components of an implant are:
- Implant Body (Screw): Surgically placed in the jawbone.
- Abutment (Intermediate Piece): Connects the implant and the crown that will rise on it.
- Crown (Porcelain Tooth): Forms the visible part and provides chewing function.
