Can a rubber dam placed on a tooth during root canal treatment make breathing difficult?

The rubber dressing only covers the treated tooth and leaves the nose completely exposed; it prevents water from accumulating at the back of the mouth, thus making it much easier for the patient to breathe and swallow.
